Stories have always fascinated me. As a child, I saw the library as a place that housed countless worlds of ideas and adventures. Each book that I carried home gave me passage to one of those worlds, and I explored it with curiosity and fascination. But it would be a long time before I began to explore my own inner worlds. The stories that lived in me remained hidden while I raised a family and later worked at the idea of living an ordinary life. When I did take up the pen and began to write, I stumbled and faltered. Wondrous tales were abandoned by the roadside as my inner critic hijacked each project. But my creative muse would not be silenced. Finally on a warm, Sunday afternoon, I gave in to its promptings with a clear declaration that I would just have fun. That decision was the key that unlocked the door to the stories that poured out. New and fantastic worlds unfolded, taking me on the grandest experience of my life. Once I gave myself permission to enjoy the process of writing, I couldn't write fast enough. I wrote seven days a week and slept three and four hours a night. Within a little over a year, I'd finished the rough drafts of six books. More importantly, I was the happiest that I had ever been. Since then, writing remains my passion, demonstrating how glorious life can be when you do what you love to do. I still enjoy other people's stories, but more than anything I love to write my own and share them with others.
